About Us

WOSO is found in Lwengo District bordering Masaka District in south western Uganda. Lwengo District is found in the dry corridor which experiences severe drought and where HIV/AIDS scourge has affected majority of the people. This has caused a large number of widows and orphans in an area who are left with no care and support. The district has 3 constituencies, 6 sub counties, 2 town councils, 42 parishes and 454 villages with a population of approximately of 269700; 57% women & 43% men.

It is about incremental growth in a shared vision and commitment, and progressive increase in support and local participation and ownership. It is about families and communities in need; mobilized and stimulated to act and make a difference in their own circumstances.

WOSO Uganda exists to mitigate the educational, nutritional, poverty and health related needs of critically vulnerable single and dual orphaned children and impoverished widows in Malongo Sub-county-Lwengo District and to support secondary school educational opportunities for youth in the region.

  • To disseminate health related information to the children and their guardians to enable them to remain healthy.
